
**German Double Rifle by Carl Stiegele Junior
11mm (unknown chambering, likely 11mm Mauser). 25.5" barrels. SN: 6290. Blued and color casehardened finish, horn triggerguard and action lever cap, checkered European hardwood stock with raised cheek rest and checkered foend. Break open action exposed hammer, back action lock, adjustable double trigger double rifle with fixed notch rear sight, bead front sight, and sling swivels. Checkered barrel rib marked KONIGL. BAYR. HOFGEWEHRFABRIK v. C. STIEGELE Jr. MUCHEN. Carl Steigele Jr, son of the firm's founder Carl Stiegele, worked in Munich circa 1863-1870, with the company remaining in business through the turn of the century. Includes a heavily damaged leather travel case.

Condition
Very Good. Bores very good, lightly oxidized and frosted but partly bright with strong rifling. Metal with a rich plum brown patina and some strong traces of faded and oxidized finish. Markings remain clear. Mechanically functional action. Wood with some wear, showing scattered bumps, dings and mars and a couple of chips out of the forend on the reverse. Case heavily worn and damaged with one end broken.
