American Civil War
.50RF. 22" barrel. NSN. No finish, iron furniture, walnut stock and forend. Tubular magazine fed manually cocked repeating carbine with L-leaf rear sight, blade front sight and saddle bar and ring. No visible markings due to pitting. A rare, late Civil War contract carbine that was not delivered in time to see service during the war. {ANTIQUE}
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
Condition
Poor to Fair. Bore fair, moderately oxidized and pitted with visible rifling. Metal with no finish, heavy oxidation and moderate to heavy pitting throughout. No visible markings. Mechanically functional action only opens with the hammer at full cock, which suggests some mechanical attention is likely needed. Magazine follower rod is replaced, magazine spring tension is low. Wood well worn, sanded and with numerous bumps, dings and mars and some chipped loss around the lock mortise.
