VIKING FIGHTING KNIFE, 850-1050 AD

Description

Scramasax (scramsax) form with straight back, dropped point blade for slashing which was the Viking method for knife fighting. Forged iron, just over 6 7/8” overall with thin slashing blade and tapered tang for mounting to a bone or wood grip. One of the small personal knives always carried by Viking warriors and buried with them. These are currently being found due to glacier melt from climate change.
