Predating coinage, these tokens, sometimes called arrowhead money, were used to facilitate the trade in slaves and food crops. They are bronze, refurbished, silver-plated, and suspended from a Sterling silver chain for modern wear. This example is 1 1/4" in length and 2700 years old!
