Four Minton Genevese Pattern Serving Plates
England, a rare pair of circa 1835 plates (8 1/2 inch) having scalloped rim and shallow well, marked Genevese Opaque China; with a scallop rim 10 inch diameter plate, marked Genevese Opaque China M (for Minton) and cypher mark for 1842, and a 10 3/8 inch diameter plate with cypher mark for 1896. All of the plates in the Genevese blue transferware pattern, first introduced by Minton in the 1820s, having deeply scrolled and floral borders and depictions of Swiss-style village scenes
