
Description
Minted in 1887, this Morgan Silver Dollar was struck in the traditional alloy of 90% silver. The obverse features George T. Morgan's celebrated design of Liberty in profile, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton, surrounded by thirteen stars, the inscription E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the date below. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with wings spread, holding arrows and an olive branch, encircled by a laurel wreath, and framed by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
