Featured in this lot is this Chippewa Cree parfleche wrapped wood war lance made by Many Trails in the 20th Century, from the Many Trails Collection at the former Indian Nation Trading Post in Livingston, Montana. This war lance features a solid wood construction and is wrapped with parfleche through about seventy-five percent of the wood staff. Brass tacks are seen throughout the parfleche wrapping with adornments of turkey feathers, and large painted beads. Two tufts of fur adorn the staff with one at the bottom and one at the top. Near the steel lance head, a tacked parfleche wrap can be seen. The piece shows good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage noted. It measures 68 5/8" L x 1 1/2" W x 1 3/8" D and weighs 2 pounds and 8 ounces.
