Featured in this lot is this Chippewa/ Cree turtle skull dancing stick by Leonard and Laurie Many Trails circa 20th century. Provenance: From The Many Trails Collection out of the Indian Nation Trading Post in Livingstone, MT. The dancing stick or wand features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows a turtle skull attached to the head of the dancing wand with a fringe that is hide wrapped and shows a segment of trade seed beads with sky blue and medium red coloration that shows horse hair adorning the pommel with some rabbit fir wrapped just underneath the turtle skull. The condition of this dancing stick is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this dancing wand is 24 1/4" x 2 7/8" x 2 1/4". The collective weight of this dancing wand is 8oz. TURKEY FEATHERS
