Description

17th-18th century, Orthodox rite, Ukrainian or Russian. Gilt bronze, over 1 ½" (1.52”) height. A raised edge cross enclosing a stick cross (no Corpus Christi) with ciphers at the beam terminals. Surrounded by Baroque architectural embellishment. Reverse flat with cross made of a fine matrix. Wear from its time of use and the surface lightly textured from burial with detail intact. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and on a 18" modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
