DABIT EUGENE: (1898-1936) French socialist writer whose novel L'Hôtel du Nord (1929) was adapted into a film directed by Marcel Carne in 1938. A.L.S., E. Dabit, one page, oblong 8vo, Rue Paul-de-Kock (Paris), 15th December 1930, to a gentleman, in French. Dabit states that he has received his correspondent´s letter concerning the novel Petit Louis, and remarks ´Elle est très simple et chaleureuse, elle témoigne d’une sincère sympathie dont je tiens à vous remercier´ (Translation: ´It is very simple and warm, and shows sincere sympathy, for which I would like to thank you´).
