HANS BAUR (1897-1993), Adolf Hitler's pilot during the political campaigns of the early 1930s. Baur was personally selected by Hitler to be his official pilot in 1933 and was consequently released from service by Lufthansa. Signed and inscribed copy of Baur's autobiography 'Between Heaven and Earth with the Mighty,' to Mr. Werner Sandner, dated 1983. 'Flugkapitan, Generalleutn. a.D. Chefpilot d. Fuhrer.' Hardcover book with dustjacket, 328 pages, 5.75 x 8.25 inches. With a twice-signed photograph of Adolf Hitler and Hans Baur, with Baur's signature on the bottom margin in blue ink. Inscription on the verso in blue ink: 'Mr. Werner Sandner warmly dedicated Hans Baur Generalleutnant a.D. 28. Nov. 1983.' 4 x 5.75 inches, with a handwritten note from Baur to the same and a candid b/w photograph, 3.5 x 5 inches, of Baur with another gentleman, possibly Mr. Sandner. Four pieces.
