Description

Antique "New Model Improved" stereoscopic camera by Rochester Optical Co., Rochester, NY. Mahogany case with brass lens mounts and dual lenses marked "R.O.Co. 4 x 5". Features extendable bellows, focusing rail with geared adjustment, and original hardware. Maker's plaque affixed to front panel reading "New Model Improved Rochester Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y." Bellows appear intact with visible wear consistent with age. A classic late 19th to early 20th century stereo view camera used for producing stereoscopic glass plate images. Exhibits surface wear, light oxidation to metal components, and age-related patina throughout.
