Description

An antique hand-stitched patchwork quilt featuring the Carolina Lily pattern, also referred to as a Poinsettia motif. The textile is constructed from red and green cotton fabrics pieced and appliqued against an off-white cotton ground. The design consists of repeating stylized floral units arranged in a grid, framed by a solid green fabric border and finished with a red fabric binding. The piece features extensive hand-quilting in fanned and diamond patterns throughout the ground and borders.
