Antique 18th century domed leather covered wood document box. Embossed gilt design with acorns and fluer de lis, lined with unpublished pages of a religious debate with decorative stamping. Hand forged iron top handle, brass lock plate and hasp and rose head nails. Hinge is leather, so open carefully. Much scuffing to leather, couple corners are worn through, likely had a thin wood bottom cover, only one edge is left, chrome feet are a later addition.
