This irregularly shaped accent mural was quarried from our Knightia Lake" stone layer. It is composed entirely of Knightia eocaena a small schooling fish that once thrived in warm freshwater lakes. The Knightia Lake layer records a sudden episode of ecological collapse perhaps caused by a rapid turnover of temperature an algal bloom or oxygen loss. The mural reveals a moment of prehistoric stillness: dozens sometimes thousands of fish perfectly preserved in graceful density their final moment captured forever in stone. The stone is backed in wood with finished beveled edges. We have added a two-part French cleat to the wood backing for easy hanging. Our murals ship in custom-made boxes fully insured against loss or damage."
