(1897 - 1966) German general, recipient of the Knight's Cross with Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds and of the German Cross in Gold, the most highly decorated member of the Waffen SS for his brilliant defense tactics. Pair of signed items including an S.P., 5 x 7 in. b/w, a signed newspaper photograph of Gille showing him full-length and in uniform, mounted on a page from a period photo album, with an A.L.S. signed at start and conclusion, 2pp. oblong 8vo., July 19, 1963, in German. Untranslated, but mentions 'tradition...soldiers...Fatherland...Wiking Division...' and thus should be translated. Two pieces, fine.
