Description

(1897 – 1984) Luftwaffe general who commanded the III Flak Corps and recipient of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves. Pickert flew out of the Stalingrad encirclement to brief Hitler on the conditions there, thus evading capture. S.P. 3.5 x 5.5 in. b/w, a fine chest, up portrait in uniform, probably war-date and boldly signed. Mounting remnants to verso, else fine.
