GORING HERMANN: (1893-1946) German politician and military leader, one of the most powerful figures in the Nazi Party who served as President of the Reichstag 1932-45 and as Minister President of Prussia 1933-45. A good vintage signed 5 x 7 photograph of Goring in a half-length profile pose wearing his military uniform and various medals including his Iron Cross 1st Class and Pour le Mérite. Signed in blue ink across a larger darker area at the base of the image, with only fair contrast, and with an inscription to his brother-in-law, the Austrian mountaineer Dr. Fritz Rigele. Together with a good vintage unsigned 7 x 9 photograph of Goring standing in a half-length pose wearing his uniform and cap and firmly holding his marshal´s baton in one hand. Some very light, minor traces of former mounting to the versos, otherwise VG
Provenance: Both photographs were removed from the personal photograph albums of Olga Therese Sophie Goring (1889-1970) German nurse, the sister of Hermann Goring. Olga was one of Goring's four full siblings and was physically noted for her strong resemblance to him. She was present when Goring was arrested by American forces in Mauterndorf on 7th May 1945. Olga married Dr. Fritz Rigele in 1912.
