A scarce promotional leaflet, 3 x 6.25 in., Channing, TX [?], ca. 1909-1919. Titled ‘Would You Accept a Town Lot Absolutely Free?’ and offering the prospective client a lot in ‘Afruitland’ in Hartley County which is attractively positioned on the line of the newly built Colorado Hereford and Gulf Railway Company. The leaflet promises: ‘…the only expense that will fall upon parties who accept this offer will be the fee for acknowledging and recording deed which under Texas law will be $1.50…’. On verso is a bank draft for said sum to be paid to The First Bank of Channing. In fine condition and one of the rarest town promotionals extant.
