Important Philippine ritual box or casket, made of solid hardwood with blood ritual patina from the central Ifugao village. Circa 1st quarter of 20th century. The "Punamhan" or ritual box is indeed a captivating artifact steeped in cultural significance. It served as a vessel for ceremonies aimed at ensuring abundant rice production, reflecting the profound relationship between the Ifugao people and their agricultural land.
