Here we have a rare, original First Printing double uncut handbill (two paper handbills printed side by side) of FD-700714 featuring Terry Reid, Cat Mother & The All Night Newsboys, and Ace of Cups at the Great Highway in July of 1970. This sheet might have been printed to be possibly used as a poster as well, but most were cut for distribution as handbills. San Andreas Fault (Tad Hunter) designed the beautiful artwork in split fountain colors. This was a low print run, since they were not being produced for commercial sale after the show (unlike most of the Family Dog posters).
"San Andreas Fault" (sometimes abbreviated simply "SAF", aka Tad Hunter) was on the major league roster of the 1960's leading SF Bay Area psychedelic dance concert artists, having created eight concert posters for the Avalon Ballroom in 1968 & 1969, four for the Straight Theater, as well as for various venues in Sacramento, San Rafael, San Bernadino, and Portland's Crystal Ballroom (these concerts carried the "Crystal Dog" nickname on the handbills & posters) in 1968 when Whitey Davis was booking major SF concert acts for the venue out of the Family Dog office that year. He also created underground comix, drawing panels for "THE ALL-LOSERS SQUAD" series, which were written by Chester Crill, running from the mid-70's, along with having created the front cover of the KALEIDOSCOPE LP "A BEACON FROM MARS" released in January of 1968.
