Ellen Baker and Barbara Morgan dual-signed commemorative postal cover honoring the seven astronauts who lost their lives in the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy on January 28, 1986. The cover features printed portraits and names of the fallen crew—Francis Scobee, Michael Smith, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Judith Resnik, Gregory Jarvis, and Christa McAuliffe—alongside imagery of the Shuttle and the Statue of Liberty torch. Postmarked April 20, 1986, from Manchester, Connecticut, it bears a 22¢ U.S. Flag stamp and a cachet reading “Seven Who Flew for All of Us.” Boldly signed by Baker in black ink and Morgan in blue ink, both of whom later flew space missions inspired by the Challenger legacy. A poignant artifact linking two NASA astronauts to the memory of those who paved the way.
Fine condition.
