Pair Silver Plate Dedicatory Synagogue Torchieres

Description

Judaic, pair of commemorative religious silverplate torchiere lamps featuring a gilt grapevine band encircling the upper body with two shield form dedication plaques, one inscribed in Hebrew and the other in English. One plaque reads Gift of Minnie Katz in memory of Louis and Lena Baranov. The second plaque reads Gift of Keneseth Israel Beth Sholom Sisterhood in memory of Ruth Wolfe Levi. Each torchiere is raised on a Star of David relief base and fitted for single bulb electric illumination. No apparent maker's marks. Provenance South American collection.

Dimensions: 26 X 13.5 X 13.5 in.

Condition: The lamps are in good overall working condition, with surface wear and patina consistent with age, storage, and handling. One lamp exhibits looseness at the base. There is a slight variation in measurements between the two examples. Note: This condition statement is provided as a courtesy and reflects an opinion, not a statement of fact.
