Charles Cabrier Bracket Clock with Moon Dial
London, 18th/19th century
having dial with Roman numeral hours, Arabic numeral minutes, date aperture, scrolled foliate hands, and engraved scrolled foliate decoration at center, the dial surrounded by scrolled floral decoration in relief and surmounted by an arch with a moon dial having silvered moon faces, seascape with three-masted ship, and riverscape with small boat and castle bridge, in wood case having articulated handle at top, raised ball finials at corners, and pierced frets with floral design, dial and movement signed "Chs. Cabrier, London", movement numbered "2728", and having label with handwritten "22.J." adhered to door on back.
20 1/2 x 12 1/2 x 8 1/2 in. (52.1 x 31.8 x 21.6 cm.)

Condition

Handle slightly loose; hands with oxidation; enamel on dial with minor losses and crazing; lacking fabric behind frets on sides; wood case with splits, minor loss, and wear. One finial replaced with makeshift finial; Latch for back door added later.
