Description

A large and masterfully executed Lladro porcelain figurine titled A Soft Refrain (Spanish: Reposada Melodia), model number 1013578. This limited edition piece, numbered 399 of 1000, depicts a reclining harlequin in a contemplative pose playing a lute. The figure is dressed in a traditional diamond-patterned harlequin costume featuring a rich, textured Gres finish in earthy tones of russet, ochre, and brown. He wears a ruffled white collar and a black bicorne-style hat. The underside features the blue Lladro backstamp (LLADR?" HAND MADE IN SPAIN), the copyright © DAISA 1997, and hand-signed artist marks by sculptor Antonio Ramos and decorator Pilar Perez. This lot includes the original custom-fitted, dark-stained wooden base and the original framed Certificate of Authenticity dated September 7, 1999. Height: 13 inches.
