Produced in 1850 after the celebrated American natural history artist John James Audubon (1785-1851) from his iconic Birds of America series. This large-scale lithograph was produced by Julius Bien of New York and depicts a pair of yellow-billed cuckoos perched amidst leafy tree branches, showcasing Audubon's characteristic blend of scientific accuracy and dramatic composition. The work is housed in a traditional gilt frame and measures approximately 39 5/8" H x 49" W x 1 3/4" D. Condition includes some foxing and discoloration consistent with age, and the interior matte requires minor adjustment.
