Wonderfully rendered pastel on board depicting the Husky “Yeager,” with finely detailed fur, clouds, and snow. Yeager was named after flying ace and astronaut Chuck Yeager and was one of Will Steger’s twelve sled dogs on the International Trans-Antarctica Expedition. Also included is one pair of only twelve pairs of stamps to reach the South Pole by dog sled, along with two informational plaques. Housed in a gold frame. Measures approximately 35 1/2" H x 33 1/4" W. Good condition with some wear to the frame.
