
Description
Stoneware pitcher signed on the base with the artist’s initials “Z T G,” and Teague for Zedith Teague Garner (1927–1976), part of the historic Seagrove, North Carolina pottery tradition. Zedith was the daughter of potter Duck Teague and worked in the family pottery after the shop reopened following World War II. She later operated the pottery with her husband Hobart and was known for her colorful personality and distinctive glazes. This example features an aqua toned flambe glaze with an elegant form, curving form, and an applied handle. Measures approximately 9 3/8″ H x 6 1/4″ W x 5″ D. Good condition.
