Edgefield Pig Jug by Bob Taft

Description

Large speckled glaze stoneware jug sculpted in the form of a seated pig. The figure features a festive expression and holds a smaller stoneware jug finished in a dark green alkaline glaze, decorated with a palmetto tree and crescent moon. Produced in the historic pottery center of Edgefield, South Carolina, and signed "Taft Edgefield SC" to the reverse of the head. Measures approximately 18 3/4'' H x 9 1/4'' W x 11'' D. Good condition.
