Carved wood sculpture of a Qilin, the mythical Chinese “unicorn,” traditionally believed to appear at the birth or death of a sage or illustrious ruler. Featuring a multicolored back, deer-like body, ox tail, scrolling foliage details, and glass eyes, mounted on a black wood base with a worn aged patina. Measures approximately 18 3/4″ H x 3 1/2″ W x 20 1/2″ D. Good condition with light wear to the paint.
