Southern stoneware jar featuring a characteristic rounded form with applied lug handle and incised band decoration encircling the body. Finished in a dark alkaline glaze typical of traditional Southern pottery, the vessel displays the utilitarian craftsmanship and restrained design associated with regional stoneware production. Measures approximately 7 3/4" H x 4 1/2" diameter. Some abrasions to the lug handle noted.
