The composition depicts a man in red and white striped pajamas sleeping soundly beneath a yellow coverlet, contrasted by a nude female figure curled in repose on the opposite side of the bed. Theodora "Theo" Sable was a distinguished New York artist and designer who combined creativity with business vision. After teaching at Fordham University, she launched her jewelry design business in 1976 and exhibited in the Young Designers Room by 1978; known for realistic, story-driven designs, she became recognized as a leading designer of her time.
