Hand-colored stipple engraving titled Earl of Derby’s Stag Hounds, after the sporting artwork of James Berenger, a noted equestrian and hunting scene artist who exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1807 and 1831. The engraving was executed by Richard Woodman and skillfully hand colored, depicting a traditional horse and rider hunting scene with hounds in pursuit. The print reflects the refined sporting imagery popular in early 19th century British art. Housed in a warm wood frame with a complementary green mat. Measures approximately 34″ H x 39 1/2″ W x 1 1/2″ D. No glass present. Some discoloration consistent with age with general wear to mat and frame.
