Cal. 71. NSN. Bbl. 41". Blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. 1809 Prussian musket later converted to percussion. Lock has Danzig arsenal marking with 1823 date. Rear of bbl. has crown "FW" proof & 1823 date. Beech stock with bottom mounted sling swivels. Brass hardware. Buttplate has unit marking that appears to read "95/5JR/50". Ramrod present that appears newer & is too long for musket. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: socket bayonet that has a cleaned top edge, scattered pitting & overall oxidation. CONDITION: stock appears lightly sanded with added finish, a few cracks, some notable chipping in ramrod channel, further scattered chips, dings, handling marks & age wear. Brass parts are turning a dull yellow color with scattered oxidation, some wood finish overrun & dings. Balance of metal is a dull gray patina with overall oxidation, some tool marks on bbl., scattered pitting & edge wear. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Oxidized bore.
