Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Colt's single line New York address. Left side of the frame is marked "COLT'S/ PATENT". Rear grip strap is engraved "Saml Colt" in script. Cyl. is roll engraved with Colt's naval engagement scene. Sides of rear grip strap have been hand engraved with a starburst motif. Case colored frame, hammer, and loading lever, with blued bbl. and cyl. Trigger guard (with flat back trigger guard bow) and rear grip strap exhibit a nickel plated finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece foliate relief carved and brass pinned wood grip, featuring a natural white inlaid spade on the right side. Brass blade front sight with hammer notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl. trigger guard, and rear grip strap. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary wood display case featuring a red fabric lined interior. CONDITION: frame and hammer retain large amounts of their original case colored finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and fading to gray patina, with some light pitting present on the sides of the frame. Loading lever retains fair amounts of case coloring, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray, as well as scattered spots of light pitting. Bbl. exhibits areas of wear fading to gray and brown patinas, with the cyl. retaining the majority of its original finish. Nickel plated parts are very good to excellent overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light to mild pitting towards the muzzle. Proper manual mechanics. Grip is very good overall.
