Description
19th-20th Century. A green-painted pine pipe box with a wonderfully-shaped back, sides, and front and a single drawer to bottom. Together with a paint-decorated candle box with tombstone shaped back, shaped front, sloped sides, and a single drawer. Pipe box, 18"h. 5"w. 4.75"d. Candle box, 13.75"h. 8.5"w.Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of the late Ginny and Ken Kruizenga (Kalamazoo, Michigan).
Condition
The smaller box with green paint looks more like it is mid to late 19th Century due to the paint history; however, it has been reinforced with 20th Century brad tacks. The larger box with darker paint looks like old, but the paint history looks newer and it has possibly been distressed; it also has been reinforced with 20th Century brad tacks. (NP 9/11/25)
