the ivory field with two columns of four stepped and pointed medallions all with a mass of hooked medallions, flower heads,animals and birds within a blue star flower head and meandering vine border.

Measures approximately 80 x 48 inches; 6ft.8 inches x 4ft; 204 x 122cm.

Provenance: The estate of John Adair Jr. (1942-2025), founder and proprietor of Kurofune Antiques, Tokyo (est. 1978). A world-renowned destination for Japanese basketry, prints and furniture, Kurofune was a landmark destination featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Wall Street Journal.
