This piece displays fancy hand-chased scrolls and acanthus leaves with grape vines and clusters. The lid has a nice finial on the top of a pineapple. The handle is formed in excellent high relief to match the grape cluster chased decorations. There is a cartouche on one side of the piece which has been monogrammed, "Beals". The underside is marked pure silver coin along with the maker's mark for Boston silversmiths Palmer & Batchelders. This piece is in excellent condition. The decorations are crisp and well-defined, especially considering age. Insignificant tea or coffee stains to the interior, as to be expected. Easy to clean. 100% useable. There are no breaks, no splits, no dents, and no repairs. Measurements: 10 inches across from spout to handle 6 inches in diameter at the widest part 10 3/4 inches tall Weight: 915 grams or 32.2 ounces
