This is an elegant Chinese cinnabar lacquer table screen, standing 36 cm tall and 24 cm wide, with a wooden core. The rectangular panel is intricately deep-carved in the tì hóng (carved red lacquer) technique, depicting lush peony blossoms, a rockery, and two birds perched on a branch—symbolizing prosperity and marital bliss. The scene is set against a fine diaper-patterned ground, framed by scrolling floral borders. The matching wooden stand is also carved with ornate floral and dragon motifs, finished in the same rich vermilion lacquer. This piece embodies the opulent craftsmanship and auspicious symbolism of Qing dynasty decorative arts.
