late 19th century, 190 x 155 cm, Western Central Persia

Except for five small blue blossoms, the red field of this gabbeh is an empty space only enlivened by slight variations in colour. It is surrounded by green sawteeth. A very simple border design of reciprocal sawteeth in red, blue, brown and yellow.

Condition

Signs of age and wear in the pile, some repairs. Cut sides and replaced selvedges. Lower finish reduced.
