C. 1890. A rare painter’s easel cane featuring an “L”-form staghorn handle mounted on a chestnut shaft. The cane is designed as a concealed artist’s easel, with the ferrule and a wide ring collar located midway down the shaft removable to form a three-legged easel. Two right-angled removable metal hooks, stored within the cane, may be inserted into six pairs of holes along two of the legs to support and adjust the placement of a canvas. The cane is in good condition with a heavy patina on the antler L-form handle and one spot of wood chipping but in fantastic condition. Length: 37 - 3/4". Condition: (Excellent).
