Description

.70-inch bore, NSN, walnut stock with a script 'US" cartouche on the left side flat, steel fittings, lock marked "US / SPRINGFIELD" with Eagle stamped between hammer and cock, horizontal 1814 on the tail, 1816 on butt tang, "D" on top of bayonet lug, top breech has script "US" and "P" proof Eagle and 'V" proof marks L/S breech, with a button-type ramrod. Cheek rest R/S Stock. Springfield Armory Type IV Infantry Musket.
