French M1855 Infantry Officer's Sword (Sabre) mfd by the Famous Impériale de Châtellerault

Description

An authentic French Model 1855 Infantry Officer's Sword (Sabre) manufactured at the famous Manufacture Impériale de Châtellerault in very good condition overall. Blade length is approximately 30.5 inches with overall length being approximately 37 inches. The spine of the blade is embossed appropriately with date of manufacture reading 1868. Hilt and pommel are ornately designed in high-quality brass. The handle is in very good to excellent condition with little to no signs of material degradation. The blade has scattered wear and is sharp but does not appear to have ever been sharpened. Bidders are welcome to preview items in person during our normal operating hours Tuesday through Saturday 11am-6pm. Estimated shipping parcel size (LxWxH) 48 inches x 6 inches x 6 inches.
