Romantic Memories creates a poetic space suspended between reality and fantasy through the female body, floral forms, and a dreamlike setting. Closely tied to the artist's personal experience of growing up, the work reflects on childhood, hometown, and vanished landscapes, responding to the emotional loss and ruptured memory brought about by China's rapid social transformation since the 1980s and 1990s.
Exhibitions, Publications & Media: Romantic Memories was exhibited at the Lishui Photography Festival and the 30th National Photographic Art Exhibition in 2025, was selected as a finalist in The Independent Photographer Portrait Competition in 2024, and will be presented at Photo London in 2026. The work has also been published in Schon! Magazine, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, Raandoom Magazine, and NOT YET Magazine.
Han Yang is a visual artist and photographer based in London. Her work focuses on femininity, the body, queer identity, and the relationship between technology and subjectivity. Her works have been exhibited at Christie's London, the 30th National Photographic Art Exhibition, Lianzhou Foto Festival, Pingyao International Photography Festival, and Lishui Photography Festival, and will be shown at Photo London in 2026. Her work has also appeared in media including Vogue Italia, Vanity Fair UK, and Harper's Bazaar.
