Description
This imposing piece of early 20th-century ironwork is a classic double long spring trap, likely intended for large game such as bear or wolf. The trap features a heavy-duty frame with a solid pan, paired with a stout chain and ring for securing the set. Of particular interest to collectors are the hand-stamped markings: one side of the frame is struck with the initials "T C" while another section bears the mark "P.R.M-H", suggesting specific blacksmith or regional foundry origins. The iron shows a deep, authentic oxidized patina consistent with its age and utilitarian history. The springs remain tight, and the metal is structurally sound, showing expected surface rust, pitting, and minor abrasions from field use and storage. H 8", W 34", D 9". Please see photos.
