Description

The ivory mihrab with an allover linked serrated leaf lattice, enclosing offset rows of multifarious flowering plants, below an inscribed pointed arch, similar inscribed spandrels within a red continuous diagonal hooked bloc border.

Measures approximately 73 x 47 inches; 6ft. 1 inch x 3ft.11in; 186 x 120cm.

Provenance: The estate of John Adair Jr. (1942-2025), founder and proprietor of Kurofune Antiques in Tokyo, Japan (est. 1978), a world-renowned destination featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Wall Street Journal.
