COPY WITH AUTHOR'S AUTOGRAPH INSCRIPTION on title page: 'To my dear fellow writer Milena / Beniamino Joppolo'. SIAE blind stamp on verso of title page. Short novel by the Sicilian writer (Patti 1906 - Rome 1963), prominent figure of Italian neorealism, dramatist appreciated by Pirandello and painter associated with the Spatialist movement. The work narrates the existential drama of Luca Spinola through a crime that becomes the pretext for an ethical and religious investigation. Copy in good state of preservation, with the autograph inscription significantly enhancing its documentary and collectible value.

Original wrappers preserved, dust jacket present but with slight uniform browning. Spine slightly yellowed. Interior with SIAE blind stamp on verso of title page and scattered light foxing. Author's autograph inscription on title page. Overall good condition for a seventy-five-year-old paperbound volume.
