A vintage 35mm camera and tripod reportedly owned by American actor, comedian, and filmmaker Joseph Frank "Buster" Keaton.
A vintage original Universal "Model A" hand-crank 35mm camera, circa 1920s, serial number 2206, sold by the Universal Camera Division of Burke & James, Inc. Constructed with black wooden housing and heavy gauge hinged aluminum doors on both sides with an engine turned finish. Includes a removable metal hand crank. Together with a vintage tripod with wooden legs made by Schiansky of M?nchen (Germany). An additional label indicates "U.S.A. Distributor Paillard Inc. NY." Circa 1950s.
The camera and tripod were later owned by American actor and comedian Chuck McCann, who knew and befriended Keaton when the two made frequent guest appearances together on The Garry Moore Show (CBS, 1950-1967).
