An original production script for Carlito's Way (Universal, 1993), signed by the star of the film, the inimitable Al Pacino. This iconic film marked the second collaboration between Pacino and director Brian de Palma, following the previous decade's seminal Scarface (Universal, 1983).
The script is housed in branded CAA (Creative Artists Agency) wrappers, fastened with two brass brads. Attributed to screenwriter David Koepp, the script is dated May 8, 1991. The title page also lists both novels that formed the basis of the film, Edwin Torres' Carlito's Way and After Hours. Pacino signed the right side of the title page in black marker.
The screenplay comes from the collection of journalist (and friend of Pacino's) Larry Grobel. Included is a note from CAA agent Rick Nicita to Grobel, sending him this updated draft of the script.
