This exceptional folk art pottery jug by regional artisan Johnathan Ervin features an elegant swirl design glaze accented by a detailed, hand-applied grape and vine relief design. Ervin began his career as a production potter working for the historic Craven Pottery in Gillsville, Georgia, where he honed his craft making traditional churns and strawberry jars before transitioning to his own independent line of pottery, where he now specializes in highly collectible jugs. Remaining based out of Gillsville, Ervin finished this wonderful hand-thrown vessel with an incised signature and a date of 10-07 on the base. The jug measures approximately 7 5/8 in. H x 4 1/4 in. in diameter and remains in overall good condition.
